A social media user launched a website to track airline luggage losses after his girlfriend’s luggage went missing.

An entrepreneur, Pieter Levels, launched luggagelosers.com to track airline luggage losses. On X, he revealed that the website was inspired by Vueling’s failure to return her suitcase after two weeks. Levels emphasized that the site’s rankings, sourced from actual lost luggage data and multilingual online complaints, aim to prevent similar mishaps for others.

✨ I made a new site called

🧳 💨 https://t.co/Jm4ChY05B4

It's a live ranking of airlines by how much luggage they are losing right now

So you can avoid flying with them (and hopefully they can improve)

The ranking features airlines like Air India and British Airways, highlighting their luggage loss records. Levels noted the data adjusts for airline size, ensuring a fair comparison. His post on X, explaining the site’s functionality and purpose, attracted over 1.2 million views and numerous comments discussing personal experiences with lost luggage.

So Vueling lost gf's suitcase from Lisbon to Barcelona like 7 days ago, then we flew on to Austin so they sent the suitcase to Austin already 4 days ago

It's at Austin airport, Airtag sees it, we also in Austin, they say they will send it to the hotel already for 4 days, but… https://t.co/qxK7QZI2L4

Some users shared their frustrations and stories, contrasting airline responses in different regions. One noted the lengthy recovery process in the EU, while another praised a prompt return in Mexico. Comments also touched on the reputational damage caused by airlines known for losing luggage, with one user expressing concern over an upcoming flight with Vueling.
