Foxborough, Massachusetts: The England-Ghana draw left Group L’s top spot unresolved after Thomas Tuchel’s side were held 0-0 at the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Tuesday.
England dominated possession and had 19 shots to Ghana’s two. Nico O’Reilly came closest late on when his header hit the bar at Gillette Stadium.
Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare helped keep England out after starting in place of the injured Lawrence Ati Zigi. He denied Bukayo Saka late before O’Reilly struck the woodwork.
Both teams moved to four points with one group match remaining, according to ESPN’s standings. England will face Panama at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, while Ghana will play Croatia in Philadelphia.
England had opened the tournament with a 4-2 win over Croatia, but Tuchel’s team struggled to turn possession into clear chances. Harry Kane stayed level with Gary Lineker on 10 World Cup goals for England.
