LONDON: The PCB objected to a Sky Sports interview with jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s sons during Thursday’s Pakistan-England Test at Lord’s.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board contacted the British broadcaster before lunch on Day 1 and warned that Pakistan players might not return to the field if the interview was aired.
Sky Sports initially delayed the segment while discussions with the PCB continued but later broadcast the 18-minute interview. Pakistan were preparing to resume the second session by the time it ended.
Former England captain Mike Atherton interviewed Suleiman Khan and Kasim Khan, who voiced concerns about their father’s health and said they feared for his life.
Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), remains jailed at Adiala Jail. His family and party have raised concerns about his treatment and health.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar later said Khan was examined at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors from Shifa were also present.

The broadcaster dispute unfolded during the second Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, where Pakistan reduced England to 248-9 by the end of the first day. Gus Atkinson was unbeaten on 34 and Josh Tongue on one.
