Emgage Action, a prominent U.S. Muslim advocacy group, officially endorsed Kamala Harris for President on Wednesday, highlighting former President Donald Trump’s threat to reinstate a travel ban on predominantly Muslim countries as a major concern.
This group, which previously supported President Joe Biden in 2020 after endorsing Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, reported mobilizing 1 million Muslim voters during that election.
In addition to Harris’s new endorsement, she has received support from smaller Muslim organizations, such as the Black Muslim Leadership Council Fund and the American Muslim Democratic Caucus, ahead of the November 5 election.
Trump, known for his intention to reimpose the controversial “travel ban,” has not yet responded to these developments. Biden abolished this ban shortly after his inauguration in 2021.
As Vice President in the Biden administration, Harris has encountered pressure from both U.S. Democrats and international allies to urge Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza amidst ongoing military actions.

Since the conflict in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, after an attack by Hamas gunmen, the U.S., a key ally and arms supplier to Israel, has provided substantial military support, including over 10,000 bombs and thousands of missiles. This military aid has continued despite the extensive devastation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with Palestinian health authorities reporting more than 41,000 casualties.
