Winsor: Duchess Sophie, wife of Prince Edward, has revealed a new talent as a garden designer, creating the “Plants with Purpose” installation for the 2026 Royal Windsor Flower Show at Windsor Great Park on June 6.
The 61-year-old royal is collaborating with landscape designer Alan Williams of Landform Consultants to showcase a garden emphasising sustainable food production and healthy soil, supporting her advocacy for young people entering the food industry.
On May 12, Sophie presented final inspiration boards to Alan Titchmarsh, President of the Royal Windsor Flower Show.
The garden will serve as a centrepiece alongside horticultural competitions, crafts, and educational talks.
Earlier, on May 10, the Duchess attended the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association parade in Hyde Park wearing a pastel-blue Emilia Wickstead “Kalonice” wrap coat dress, paired with a wide-brimmed brown hat and tan stilettos, exemplifying her signature “Cinderella blue” aesthetic while respecting royal dress protocols.
Sophie has a history of sustainable fashion, having previously worn the same coat dress at the Sovereign’s Parade in 2025 and at the 2024 Christmas service at Sandringham.
Her hands-on role in horticulture marks an expansion of her public duties under King Charles III.
