David Rush, an Idaho native known as the “Serial Record Breaker,” astounded the world by setting 15 Guinness World Records in a single day.
Rush has shattered over 250 records, and the recent visit to the Guinness World Records headquarters in London aimed to claim the highest number of concurrent titles, which stands at 180.
“Adjudicating so many records in one day was exhausting, and David’s ability to continue without showing fatigue was truly remarkable,” remarked Will Sinden, GWR’s official adjudicator.
Rush began his record-breaking spree by setting a new record for the most bites taken from three apples while juggling them within a minute: 198 bites. He displayed precision by setting the record for the fastest time to bounce a table tennis ball ten times on two bottle caps using alternating hands, completing the task in just 2.09 seconds. He also set a new mark for the most touches of a baseball with alternating sides of the hand within 30 seconds, achieving 125 touches.
His prowess with ping pong balls was equally impressive. Rush achieved records for the most table tennis balls bounced against a wall with his mouth and the most hits against a wall within a minute. He also set a record for catching the most table tennis balls in shaving foam on his head within 30 seconds.
Other notable achievements included the most behind-the-back basketball passes against a wall in 30 seconds, the most juggling tricks with three balls in one minute, and the most juggling catches of a bowling ball with two other balls on a balance board within the same timeframe.
Rush’s agility and quick hands allowed him to fold and throw a paper aeroplane in just 5.12 seconds. He also excelled in target precision, setting a record for throwing 29 chopsticks at a target within a minute.
Wrapping up his extraordinary day, Rush broke records for the most T-shirts worn in 30 seconds, the fastest time to stack 10 toilet paper rolls with one hand, the most water moved by hands in 30 seconds, and the quickest time to drink one litre of lime juice through a straw.
Reflecting on his achievements, Rush said he felt “officially amazing” after his day of record-breaking feats. Will Sinden summed up the day: “Fifteen record titles in one day—unbelievable!”
