This is the second major fatal accident on this stretch in recent months. In January 2026, a collision near Yakmach killed seven people, including four women and two children, and injured three others.
Authorities attributed the accidents to a combination of overloading, speeding, dangerous overtaking, poor road conditions, and the challenging terrain of this remote trade corridor connecting Pakistan to Iran.
| Date | Location | Details | Casualties |
| May 8, 2026 | Near Dalbandin | Car vs. Gas Bowser (Overloading) | 10 Dead, 5 Injured |
| Jan 2026 | Near Yakmach | Collision between two double-cabin vehicles | 7 Dead (incl. 4 women, 2 kids) |
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed grief over the deaths and called for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improvements to highway infrastructure to prevent further tragedies.
Local officials emphasised that the RCD Highway, despite its importance for trade, remains hazardous due to heavy traffic, long-haul driver fatigue, and inadequate safety measures.
