PESHAWAR: The KP monsoon death toll rose to 32 on Sunday, July 26, after six more people died in rain and flash-flood incidents since July 24, the provincial disaster authority said.

The latest fatalities included three men and three children. Six other people, three men and three women, were injured during the same reporting period.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said roof and wall collapses caused several of the casualties.

Between July 19 and July 26, rain-related incidents killed 13 men, three women and 16 children across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Another 35 people suffered injuries, including 16 men, 12 women and seven children.

Heavy rain and flash floods damaged 26 houses after July 24. Nineteen sustained partial damage, while seven were completely destroyed.

The cumulative damage assessment listed 72 affected houses during the July 19–26 monsoon spell. Of those, 55 were partially damaged, and 17 were destroyed. The incidents also killed 46 livestock animals.

PDMA said rain and flooding affected 25 districts. The affected areas included Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Shangla, Swabi, Chitral, Upper Dir and Lower Dir.

Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Upper Kohistan, Tank, Torghar, Kurram, North and South Waziristan also reported weather-related incidents.

The authority directed district administrations and rescue agencies to accelerate relief and rehabilitation work. It also urged residents of vulnerable and low-lying areas to follow official weather advisories.
