Senior journalist Salim Bukhari said Pakistan had moved toward a zero-tolerance security approach against cross-border terrorism and militant safe havens.
He said the change followed recent attacks in Balochistan, where militants had targeted civilians as well as security personnel. The approach focused on Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan safe havens and Afghan Taliban-linked sanctuaries across the border.
Bukhari said recent terrorist tactics had changed because militants were now attacking civilians, not only security forces and police.
He said those attacks had weakened local sympathy for militant groups and brought the public closer to security forces.
Citing recent DG ISPR briefing points, Bukhari said the groups acted as foreign proxies and aimed to destabilise Pakistan.
He also linked the violence to attempts to damage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Bukhari said high-level military statements signalled possible major operations against cross-border safe havens.

He said Pakistan’s leadership appeared ready to use the full force of the state against those networks.
The analysis said past political decisions and leniency had allowed some militant networks to settle and build internal facilitation links. Bukhari said the new policy would offer no concessions to terrorists or their facilitators.
