Apart from discussing matters of professional interest, the Corps Commanders Conference yesterday also undertook a comprehensive review of internal and external security situation of the country, military officials said.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif chaired the meeting held in the garrison city of Rawalpindi at General Headquarters (GHQ).
“Focus of the exhaustive review remained on the most effective implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) in concert with federal and provincial governments to eliminate terrorism, extremism, and sectarianism without any discrimination,” said a handout issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
“The meeting also zoomed in on the progress of ongoing operations against the terrorists in North Waziristan and other preemptive security measures to ward off Peshawar Army Public School like militant attacks,” the ISPR further said.
