Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Monday ordered to launch special combing operations following a suicide attack at Civil Hospital in Quetta that left at least 63 people dead.
Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa wrote on his Twitter account.“Intelligence agencies to go anywhere in the country to target anyone linked with these terror acts,”
The army chief issued the orders while chairing a security meeting at Corps Headquarters Quetta, where Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan and Commander Southern Command Lt-Gen Amir Riaz were also present.
General Raheel said: “Having been defeated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorists are shifting focus to Balochistan in an attempt to undermine improved security in the province, especially targeting CPEC”.
He said that all resources would be utilized to control the situation.
At least 63 people were killed and dozens wounded today when an explosion ripped through a crowd of mourners at civil hospital in Quetta.
The blast in the Balochistan provincial capital Quetta came as up to 200 people gathered at the Civil Hospital after the fatal shooting of a senior local lawyer.
Video footage showed bodies strewn on the ground, some still smoking, among pools of blood and shattered glass as shocked survivors cried and comforted one another.
