The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has agreed to support a government bill expected to be presented in the National Assembly soon, according to PPP sources.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met President Asif Ali Zardari and briefed him on the proposed legislation. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur also attended the meeting.
The participants discussed various provisions of the proposed bill, while Naqvi sought the PPP leadership’s backing for its passage.
PPP sources said the party subsequently assured the interior minister that it would support the legislation.

Attorney General Mansoor Awan has also held meetings with President Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari concerning the proposal.
The bill is expected to be tabled in the National Assembly soon. However, they have not identified the legislation by name or disclosed its subject, provisions or proposed amendments.
