Barrister Shehzad Ata Elahi resigned as Pakistan’s Attorney General after less than two months in office.
According to many sources, Barrister Shehzad Ata Elahi quit his employment for personal reasons. Shehzad Ata Elahi, as AGP, was appointed on February 2 by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Barrister Shehzad Ata Elahi has been named Pakistan’s Attorney General by the authority granted to him under Article 100(1) of the 1973 Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Elahi acquired the position of AGP following Mansoor Usman Awan’s decision to resign as the government’s chief counsel.
After accepting the resignation of Ashtar Ausaf Ali as AGP on December 23, President Dr. Arif Alvi accepted the nomination of Supreme Court counsel Awan as AGP. In October of last year, Ali presented his resignation due to health concerns.
However, the federal government did not publicly announce the appointment, and no official reason was provided.
