QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said work was underway on several Balochistan Youth Engagement Plan projects to create better employment opportunities for youth.
Bugti made the remarks during an Open X Space debate. He said the projects would cover every district of Balochistan, including Gwadar, and aim to support young people through employment-linked development.
Bugti said the Balochistan government had introduced pension reforms, an electric vehicles policy and cuts in unnecessary expenses.
He said the provincial government had also carried out broad reforms across several departments for the first time.
The chief minister said special funds had been allocated through the Education Endowment Fund and scholarships to promote higher education in Balochistan.

He said a Rs4 billion project would provide high-speed internet to government schools, colleges, universities and health centres across the province.
Bugti also criticised the Baloch Solidarity Committee, saying it tried to incite violence under the cover of missing persons and public rights issues.
He said a few violent elements could not weaken the writ of the state in the presence of Pakistan’s armed forces.
