Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar announced on Monday the arrest of four suspects linked to the suicide bombing near Karachi Airport, which targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers. The bombing resulted in three deaths, including two Chinese engineers, and injured 11 others. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a banned separatist group, claimed responsibility.

During a press conference with Sindh Inspector General (IG) Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Minister Lanjar detailed the incident. He identified the bomber as Shah Fahad, discovered through fingerprints from remains found at the scene. CCTV and vehicle fragments helped pinpoint the bomber and his accomplices.

Investigations revealed the car used in the attack was bought for 7.1 million rupees. Excise data indicated that individuals named Farhan and Sharif, who were accompanied by the bomber, purchased it. They, along with a bank employee named Bilal, reportedly prepared the car with explosives, including RDX, at a site beyond Hub.

Minister Lanjar reassured the public about ongoing efforts to capture more suspects. He disclosed that Javed, the main suspect, coordinated the attack, including surveillance and tracking the movements of the Chinese nationals. Three suspects are in custody, while three others remain at large.

In related news, a private security guard at a Karachi textile mill shot and injured two Chinese nationals last week. This incident prompted Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to commit to enhanced security for Chinese nationals, especially those connected to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
