Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s legal troubles have raised questions over who would fund his defence as investigators examine claims linked to the Epstein files.
Buckingham Palace supports the investigation. It also said the case could create a dilemma if King Charles III were to help fund legal fees.
A source said royal funding could appear problematic because prosecutors would bring any case in the monarch’s name.

Historian Andrew Lownie cited a staffer who said Andrew had claimed money was not an issue because of past business deals.
The report said Andrew lives at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate. It also said he retains art, portraits and a Range Rover from his former royal life.
