After turning down a Hollywood film in early January, Pakistani-Canadian YouTube sensation Zaid Ali recently came to the notice of Dabangg actress Sonakshi Sinha, who couldn’t help but tweet about how one of his videos had her in splits.

The 19-year-old Zaid Ali, who is more commonly known by his internet handle ZaidAliT, became famous with his comic YouTube videos which regularly poke fun at topics close to the heart of billions of desis all around the world. His Facebook page, where he regularly uploads his videos, has a whopping two million likes.

In 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, then-debutante Sonakshi told Salman, “Thappar se darr nahi lagta saab, pyar se lagta hai.” The line quickly passed into the annals of classic Bollywood dialogues.

In a video released early this year, Zaid demonstrates the horrific consequences of repeating this dialogue at home with one’s mother.

Last month, Zaid arrived in Lahore to connect with his roots. The young comedian apparently had an amazing time roaming around the city, sightseeing and sampling Lahore’s famous food streets.
