Barcelona clinched the 2025-26 La Liga title on Sunday after defeating Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico at the Nou Camp, moving 14 points clear with three matches remaining.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with an early free-kick that beat Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois before Ferran Torres doubled the lead in the 18th minute from a Dani Olmo assist. Both players dedicated their goals to Barcelona coach Hansi Flick following the death of his father earlier in the weekend.
The victory secured Barcelona’s 29th Spanish league title and a second consecutive La Liga crown under Flick. The Catalan club extended its winning streak to 11 league matches and maintained a perfect home record with 18 wins from 18 games at the Nou Camp.
Rashford continued his strong season on loan from Manchester United, scoring his 14th goal across all competitions. The England forward later said his long-term future at Barcelona remained undecided ahead of the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid struggled throughout the match, managing only one shot on target. Coach Alvaro Arbeloa faced further pressure after reports of a dressing-room altercation between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, who missed the game with concussion symptoms.
Vinicius Junior was denied by Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the second half, while Robert Lewandowski nearly added a third goal late in the match as home supporters celebrated the title with chants of “Championes, Championes.”
Barcelona remain seven league titles behind record champions Real Madrid, who hold 36 La Liga trophies.
