Rapper ColdheartedAC faces a federal indictment alleging that he and two other people participated in a stolen-check scheme involving more than USD 8.1 million.
ColdheartedAC is the stage name of Ada William Obayuwana, 31, a resident of Quartz Hill, California, north of Los Angeles. He has also released music under the shorter name AC.
A federal grand jury returned a 25-count indictment against Obayuwana and two co-defendants.
Prosecutors allege the group obtained and attempted to cash checks stolen from government entities, businesses and individuals. The alleged activity covered a period from April 2022 through December 2023.
Obayuwana had been building an independent career in rap and hip-hop before the case emerged.
His releases include “BUSY BODY,” “CORSA MODE,” “ChiAngeles”, and “DESTINED.” He source also says he visited SiriusXM Studios in New York in 2022 as part of his music activity.
