Mehmood Khan Achakzai, chief of the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan (TTAP), has called for a new social contract among all political parties to restore constitutional rule. He assured that PTI founder Imran Khan “will not take action against anyone” if the constitutional order is upheld.

The proposal came during a joint press conference following a meeting between TTAP leaders and the sisters of the PTI founder at Bani Gala. The opposition leaders condemned the alleged violence against women outside Adiala Jail. They expressed full solidarity with the family. They also voiced serious concerns about the country’s political climate and democratic state.

Addressing the media, Achakzai delivered a strong critique of the current administration. He described its actions as “undemocratic” and “clear violations of human rights.” He challenged what he called a false impression that “there is one man who is a rebel and must be broken.” He emphasised that the struggle represents all 250 million Pakistanis.

The opposition leader made serious allegations about the government’s formation, stating it was achieved “through wealth and force.” He condemned what he described as violations of personal privacy and the humiliation of citizens in their homes. He termed these actions criminal.

Achakzai urged all state institutions to operate strictly within their constitutional boundaries. He appealed to political parties to sign a contract ensuring constitutional rule. “I will get the signature of the PTI founder, and I assure you Imran Khan will not act against anyone,” he stated, offering a guarantee of reconciliation.

The TTAP chief clarified that his movement has no personal disputes with any political figures or institutions. “Our priority is to establish a fair social contract so Pakistan can function properly. We do not want to become rulers. Just return our Constitution to us,” he concluded, framing the struggle as a constitutional rather than personal confrontation.
