Taylor Swift was booed by sections of the crowd after her pre-recorded tribute played during Alan Jackson’s farewell concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on Saturday, June 27.
The concert, titled “Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale,” marked Jackson’s final full-length touring performance, according to Nissan Stadium.
Swift, 36, opened her video by thanking Jackson for decades of songwriting, performances and support for fans, artists and writers. Parts of her message became difficult to hear as boos echoed through the stadium.
Swift also named Jackson’s 2002 song “Drive” as her favourite Alan Jackson track. She said personal storytelling influenced her at a young age.
Other artists who could not attend also sent video messages. Keith Urban and Zac Brown are among those who appeared on screen.
