Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said the National Action Plan was a manifestation of national consensus and the government would ensure its swift implementation.
He was chairing a follow-up meeting reviewing progress on the implementation of National Action Plan to counter terrorism at the Prime Minister House.
The meeting also reviewed actions being planned to block terror financing and breaking the terror communication network.
Progress on action against illegal SIMs also came under review.
The prime minister said only those cases would be referred to the special courts which relate to hardcore terrorists responsible for mass murder of innocent civilians, children and personnel of law enforcement agencies.
He said special courts were part of the National Action Plan and an extraordinary solution of an extraordinary problem.
Sharif added that all institutions would carefully scrutinize cases before prosecution in the special military tribunals.
“We have isolated terrorists with our unity and will make sure that we remain united against them,” said he adding, “Our fight is with the forces of hatred, violence and intolerance. We cannot betray our martyrs. We shall win this war as a nation.”
The Prime Minister said our future and ultimate objective was a peaceful and secure Pakistan and our armed forces had paved the way for it through operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for SAFRON Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Advisor to PM on National Security Sartaj Aziz, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Special Assistant to PM Barrister Zafarullah Khan, DG ISI, DG MO, and Secretary Interior attended the meeting along with other senior government officials.
