NEW YORK: US Open ticket prices are climbing as Arthur Ashe Stadium adds 2,000 courtside seats and removes about 2,800 upper-level seats under an $800 million renovation.
The United States Tennis Association said courtside capacity has increased from 3,000 to 5,000 seats for the 2026 tournament. Arthur Ashe Stadium also has two new dedicated luxury suite levels and a promenade concourse with 40% more space.
Meanwhile, the changes reduce the number of cheaper seats higher in the stadium. Forbes reported that 2,800 seats were removed from the upper loge and promenade areas, leaving Arthur Ashe with a capacity of 23,933 during the current phase of construction.
TicketData has also recorded elevated resale prices. Its late-August listings showed average upcoming get-in prices of about $263 for US Open grounds admission, while some individual grounds sessions were listed above $350.

TicketData reported that opening-round resale prices had at one point reached 60% above comparable levels a year earlier. American player Tommy Paul also expressed concern after learning that some grounds passes were selling for around $500.
The premium strategy is increasingly important to the USTA. Its audited accounts show corporate hospitality and service revenue reached $83.35 million in 2024, while ticket revenue totalled $208.48 million.

The 2026 US Open main draw begins Sunday, August 30. The first grounds and Grandstand session starts at 11 a.m. EDT.
