The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi tomorrow to sight the Zil Hajj moon and decide the Eid-ul-Adha 2026 date in Pakistan.
Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting at Habib Bank Plaza. The committee will issue the final announcement after reviewing evidence from across the country.
Meanwhile, Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also meet at their respective district headquarters. These committees will collect local moon-sighting evidence and forward it to the central body.
If the moon appears tomorrow, Pakistan will celebrate Eid al-Adha on May 27. However, if the moon is not sighted, the Islamic festival will fall on May 28.

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission predicted that Eid-ul-Adha 2026 will likely fall on Wednesday, May 27, based on astronomical calculations.
According to SUPARCO, the Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH moon will be born at 1:01 am on May 17. By sunset, its age will reach about 18 hours and 30 minutes.
SUPARCO said Pakistan’s coastal areas may have about 60 minutes between sunset and moonset on May 17. Therefore, the agency said crescent visibility remains likely, although clear sighting usually needs the moon’s age to be close to 20 hours.
