Zeeshan Siddique, Mumbai MLA and son of the late former minister Baba Siddique, who was murdered last week, made a resolute declaration today of his readiness to continue his father’s legacy of public service.
“The blood of a lion runs in my veins. I am still here, unafraid and unbroken. They took one, but I rise in his place. This fight is far from over. Today, I stand where he stood: ALIVE, RELENTLESS, and READY,” Zeeshan posted on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
Baba Siddique fell victim to an assassination last week, reportedly on the orders of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail. The motive is believed to be Baba Siddique’s well-known association with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Investigators have indicated that Zeeshan Siddique is a potential target for similar reasons. His photograph was discovered on a cellphone retrieved from one of the three assailants responsible for his father’s death.
Unofficial sources suggest that Bishnoi’s grudge against Salman Khan stems from the actor’s controversial hunting of blackbucks two decades ago.

Three gunmen attacked Baba Siddique near his son’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12. After the shooting, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have so far arrested nine individuals in connection with the murder, including two of the three shooters.
Lawrence Bishnoi, known for his involvement in multiple criminal cases, including murder, had previously gained notoriety with the murder of Punjabi artist Siddhu Moose Wala.
