Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 release will arrive on September 15, 2026, after Insomniac Games confirmed the launch date for the PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Insomniac Games announced the date through social media, ending a long wait for fans who had received few updates on the project. Players can already add the game to their wishlist before pre-orders begin.
The studio said the game will tell an original Wolverine story rather than follow existing comic plots. The campaign will take Logan through locations including Tokyo, the wild areas of Canada and Madripoor’s underground world.
Insomniac Games is giving Marvel’s Wolverine a darker tone than its Spider-Man games. The gameplay will focus on close-range combat built around Wolverine’s claws, speed and healing abilities.
Early details point to intense, cinematic action, with a stronger emphasis on brutal hand-to-hand combat than on long-range combat. The September release timing also puts the game ahead of several major titles expected around the same time.
Insomniac first revealed Marvel’s Wolverine in 2021, and it remains one of PlayStation’s most-discussed upcoming exclusives.
