DART and Trinity Metro are expanding World Cup transit plans in North Texas with more trains, extra buses and station ambassadors for visiting fans.
The agencies said they have prepared for years to move crowds between airports, downtown areas and match-related destinations during the FIFA World Cup.
Trinity Metro held a rally in Fort Worth on Friday to highlight preparations for the 39-day tournament. “Today, we welcome the world,” Trinity Metro President and CEO Rich Andreski said.
Trinity Metro has planned routes from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to downtown Fort Worth and onward to Arlington. DART officials said riders should expect more support across the system during the tournament.
DART Police Chief Charles Cato said more officers will ride trains. The agency also plans to place ambassadors in soccer jerseys at key stations.

DART plans rail service every 20 minutes, seven days a week. Spokesperson Trenise Winters said the agency may adjust service if demand rises.
If needed, DART can add up to 125 buses and increase rail frequency to every 10 minutes. Fans are expected to use transit to reach Arlington and events such as Fan Fest at Fair Park.
