Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco) will commence wheat procurement campaign from Tuesday in Punjab, a statement said on Monday.
Distribution of gunny bags to start in Bahawalnagar, Manchanabad, Lodhran, Kehror Pakka, Layyah and Khanpur from April 22, while in Okara, Pakpattan, Burewala, Mailsi, Mian Channu and Alipur, gunny bags will be distributed from April 25 and farmers will get wheat bags from April 28 in Hafizabad and Pindi-Bhattian, it said.
Passco had already started wheat procurement in Sindh and Balochistan from the first week of April under the wheat procurement drive 2014 with the nationwide buying target of 1.6 million tons, it said.
