KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast Karachi temperatures of 36°C to 38°C from Monday, October 12, as hotter weather returns to the port city.
Meteorologists expect changing atmospheric conditions to affect sea breezes that help moderate Karachi temperatures.
The department said maximum temperatures could climb over the coming days. However, the anticipated readings would remain within the normal range for October.
Karachi experienced partly cloudy conditions on Friday, with southwesterly winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.

The PMD has not specified how long the hotter conditions will continue or whether sea breezes will weaken significantly.
Meanwhile, a new westerly weather system is expected to enter the country’s upper and northern regions from October 12. The department said the system could also bring rainfall to different parts of Balochistan.
Officials have not identified which districts are likely to receive rain or provided estimates of expected precipitation.
The forecast comes as Karachi prepares for warmer daytime conditions early next week, with the weather department monitoring changes in atmospheric patterns.
