Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has introduced a new feature allowing users to send longer voice notes in status updates.
WABetaInfo reported that the Meta-owned messenger now enables users to record and share voice notes for up to one minute via status updates on iOS and Android.
“This feature extends the duration to up to 1 minute per voice note, allowing users to share their updates without needing multiple recordings,” the WhatsApp news tracker stated.
The new feature provides users with greater flexibility. It allows them to share more detailed audio messages through their statuses, surpassing the previous 30-second limit.
WhatsApp’s update enables users to share more meaningful and extended voice clips.
WhatsApp released this feature to some beta testers with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.7.6 update. The company is reportedly exploring further innovations for status updates, particularly linked to voice notes.
Users with the latest WhatsApp version can now access this feature. Android users can update via the Google Play Store, while iOS users can install it from the App Store. This feature is expected to roll out to more users in the coming days.
