Lyari’s most well known crime lord, Uzair Baloch has made startling revelations in the initial investigation, saying the money collected from extortion, kidnappings and drug dens used to be sent to high-ranking personalities.

“The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was completely in the know of these criminal activities,” Uzair told interrogators.

He claimed that shares from the money collected through his gambling and drug businesses were also distributed among high-ranking police officials.

Uzair Baloch further disclosed that torture cells had been set-up in various areas of Lyari neighbourhood in Karachi.

Baloch revealed that the hideouts of Lyari gangsters were also located in Hub and Balochistan, adding that his companions had killed several people for not paying ransom.

He said the Hub route was used for smuggling drugs.
