The Unitree Superman robot reached a claimed top speed of 45.6 km/h and jumped 2 metres from a standing position, the Chinese robotics company said Monday.
Unitree Robotics said the humanoid prototype reached 12.66 metres per second, or 28.3 mph. The company said that speed exceeds the fastest recorded human sprint.
The prototype has legs measuring 0.85 metres, or about 2.8 feet. Unitree said its standing jump reached 2 metres, or 6.6 feet.
The Hangzhou-based company developed the machine in just over three months. Unitree said it expects the prototype’s performance to improve further.

Unitree separately said this month that it had produced about 18,000 bipedal humanoid robots. The company, founded in 2016, also makes quadrupedal autonomous robots.
The unveiling came ahead of Unitree’s planned initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s technology-focused STAR Market on Wednesday.
