Iran said Wednesday that an Iranian wedding strike by U.S. forces killed at least 50 men, women and children in southern Hormozgan province, as Tehran retaliated with missiles and drones across the Middle East.

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB said three missiles struck a wedding gathering in a private home in Kuhestak, Sirik district. It reported nearly 70 casualties, including six people in critical condition.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei earlier said more than 50 men, women and children were killed or wounded in the September 1 attack.

U.S. Central Command spokesman Commander Tim Hawkins said CENTCOM was aware of reports originating from Iranian state media.

He said the U.S. military “never targets civilians,” but CENTCOM did not immediately confirm or deny that an American weapon hit the gathering.

The renewed fighting spread beyond Iran overnight. Tehran said it launched missiles and drones at facilities used by U.S. forces in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates in response to the latest American strikes.

Jordan’s military said it detected 13 ballistic missiles from Iran, intercepted 10 and reported no deaths or injuries. Bahrain said it intercepted Iranian drones.

While Kuwait said firefighters extinguished a blaze at a residential complex struck by what authorities described as an Iranian drone.

CENTCOM said its latest operation struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps air-defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets, communications facilities and mine-laying capabilities. Tensions also intensified around the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi shipping company Bahri said two Filipino crew members aboard the tanker SIDR were killed during a security incident Monday night.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard separately said two other tankers caught fire after striking mines outside an Iranian-designated transit route.

U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran against further retaliation and questioned the value of another agreement with Tehran. In a separate social-media post Tuesday, Trump urged Iranians to “rise up and fight.”

Brent crude traded around $95 a barrel Wednesday as renewed hostilities raised concerns about shipping and energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
