MOSCOW, Russia: A symbolic Moscow robot wedding paired humanoids Robert and Matilda at the Pushkin Library on July 9, with a robot dog delivering their light bracelets.
Robert, presented as an office worker and technology blogger, exchanged programmed vows with Matilda, a ballerina-style robot. Ceremony host Maria Pantyukhina declared them “robot spouses” after their systems were described as successfully synchronised.
Their robotic dog, Dogmatik, carried the bracelets into the ceremony. The robots then performed coordinated movements, including ballet steps and martial-arts gestures.

Operators controlled the robots through remote and telecontrol technology, using virtual-reality equipment to reproduce gestures and movements, according to Russian technology outlet First Technical.
Robert and Matilda had previously appeared at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026, where they interacted with visitors as examples of Russian humanoid technology.
