NEW YORK: Taylor Swift’s wedding plans are centred on Madison Square Garden, where the singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are scheduled to marry on Friday, according to The Associated Press.
A city permit obtained by AP showed the wedding event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. local time and could run until 4 a.m. Saturday.
A law enforcement official briefed on security plans told AP that a smaller rehearsal dinner was planned for Thursday night.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to discuss the events publicly. Crews and trucks have moved materials in and out of Madison Square Garden for days, the report said.
New York City Police Department Commissioner Jessica Tisch declined to confirm the wedding but said police would have appropriate resources at major weekend events, including at the venue.

The event falls during the July Fourth weekend, when New York is also preparing for Independence Day celebrations, a tall ships parade on the Hudson River and a World Cup game in New Jersey.
Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to 20 local and national charities this week, according to Swift’s publicist.
Nine of the selected organisations are based in New York, including Food Bank For NYC, City Harvest and Musical Mentors.
Other recipients included Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Feeding America.
