SWAT, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Swat lake recovery efforts entered the fourth day Saturday as teams searched Saifullah Lake for 17-year-old Bushra Ondal after a deadly boat tragedy. Officials said the operation began at 5:00 am and would continue without interruption.
The district administration, specialised Pakistan Navy teams, and local volunteers joined the search. Bushra was the daughter of retired Colonel Amir Ondal, who died in the boat capsizing along with other family members.
At least seven tourists died, and seven others were injured when the boat capsized in Saifullah Lake on Wednesday.
Rescue officials shifted the dead and injured to Kalam Hospital after rescue teams, ambulances and tourism police reached the site. Police in Swat registered a first information report against the boat operator on Thursday.
The initial investigation said the incident occurred after the boat’s engine stopped working. Police were conducting raids to arrest the boat owner.
