MASTUNG, Balochistan: A Mastung shooting killed a woman and injured three other travellers, including two children, after armed men attacked their car on Tuesday, police said.
The vehicle was travelling from Zhob to Karachi when the assailants signalled it to stop on the National Highway near Mastung, according to police.
The attackers opened fire from both sides before the driver could pull over. The woman, who was being taken to Karachi for medical treatment, died at the scene.
Three other occupants sustained injuries. An injured passenger told hospital staff that the attackers began shooting before the family had time to stop the vehicle.

Local authorities and Levies personnel transferred the woman’s body and the injured passengers to a nearby hospital. Medical staff were treating the wounded.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Authorities also opened an investigation to identify the attackers and determine the motive.
