Redmond, Washington: Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 12 for business customers, featuring Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips and a starting price of $1,949.99.
The base Surface Pro for Business 13-inch, 12th Edition, includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 13-inch PixelSense LCD display.
Microsoft is refreshing its business Surface lineup with Intel chips before Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 models arrive later this year. The move reverses the timing from the previous generation.
The top Surface Pro 12 model costs $4,399.99. That version includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 64GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Microsoft also offers OLED display options and 5G models. The Surface Pro 12 5G starts at $2,249.99 with a Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The design remains close to the Surface Pro 11. However, Microsoft kept two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, the Surface Connect magnetic charging port, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The device also includes a 1440p Quad HD front camera and a 10-megapixel 4K rear camera. Those specs target video calls, scanning and field work for business users.
Microsoft also launched Surface Laptop 8 for Business in 13.8-inch and 15-inch versions. Both models use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips.

The company also introduced a smaller Surface Laptop for Business 13-inch, 1st Edition. The naming separates it from the 13.8-inch and 15-inch 8th Edition models.
The Surface Laptop 8 13.8-inch starts at $1,949.99. Its base model includes Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Microsoft kept Surface Connect charging on the Surface Laptop 8 and Surface Pro 12. The laptop’s starting price sits far above the original Surface Laptop 7 price.
