Spotify launched Spotify Reserved in the United States on Thursday, giving selected top fans a guaranteed window to buy two concert tickets before the general sale.
The feature temporarily holds tickets for eligible fans of specific artists. Spotify said it uses engagement signals such as total streams, saves and shares, while also weighing location.
The company did not disclose the full eligibility formula. It said the limited detail aims to stop users from artificially gaming the system.

Selected users will see the Reserved offer on the Spotify home screen. Spotify will also send an email and push notification, while offers may appear in Search, artist pages and the Now Playing interface.
The purchase window usually lasts about 24 hours. During that period, eligible users can tap “Buy now” and select up to two tickets for an eligible tour date.

Spotify said seating is still subject to availability, even when tickets are held. The checkout process redirects users to Ticketmaster, where fans may need to link their Spotify account.
For major stadium tours, selected users may still enter a digital queue before reaching final ticket selection. Tickets left unclaimed after the Reserved window expires go to the next eligible fan.
The feature is limited to select artists and tours at launch. Spotify said Reserved is available only to Spotify Premium subscribers aged 18 or older.
