A committee from the Sindh Assembly has delivered a report on the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), highlighting irregularities in BIEK exams.
The report, released on Tuesday, points out mismanagement in the assessment process and issues with records and mark sheets for the XI exams.
Led by Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, the committee recommends awarding grace marks of 15% in Physics, 20% in Chemistry, and 15% in Mathematics to all affected students.
Shah told journalists that the board must end its eight-year record of malpractice. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi from NED University headed the investigation, which uncovered significant flaws. “We will ensure those responsible are held accountable,” Shah said, stressing that no student should suffer injustice. He labeled BIEK as a “mafia” and noted that Karachi’s examination results lag behind other boards, damaging its reputation.

By introducing grace marks and focusing on accountability, Sindh aims to restore trust in its education boards.
