On Saturday, the Sindh High Court (SHC) invalidated the 2024 Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) results and mandated its reconduction within a month. The court decided after an investigative committee found the testing system compromised.
The SHC’s written order highlighted the unanimous agreement among representatives of the Sindh government, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and Dow University to administer the test again. Consequently, the court directed the provincial government, health secretaries and university boards to organize a retest under PMDC guidelines within the stipulated timeframe.

Additionally, the SHC instructed the committee investigating the paper leak and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to continue their probe and complete it within a month.
On September 30, before the ruling, Dow University released the MDCAT results, showing that 22,366 candidates out of 38,041 from across Sindh had passed, marking a 58.79% pass rate. Notably, 12,572 candidates took the test at the Ojha and NED centres, with 6,947 qualifying for MBBS and 7,941 for BDS programs.
