Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began a four-day visit to China on Saturday to discuss economic cooperation and the US-Iran conflict, his office said.
Sharif will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in Beijing. He will also attend an event marking 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
Pakistan, whose capital is Islamabad, sits in South Asia. China, whose capital is Beijing, sits in East Asia.
The visit includes a stop in Hangzhou for a business forum as part of Phase II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Sharif will also meet Chinese executives, visit Alibaba’s headquarters and attend signing ceremonies for memorandums of understanding.

Pakistan and China are coordinating over the US-Iran conflict, the Foreign Office said Friday. Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said both countries were in close contact on the Middle East and Gulf standoff.
The two governments have backed a five-point peace initiative. It calls for dialogue, a ceasefire, protection of civilian and nuclear facilities, safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and respect for the United Nations Charter.
