Two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Lahore Qalandars celebrated their captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, by presenting him with a custom 24-karat gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro.
The gesture, honouring his leadership and contributions, was captured in a video shared on the team’s social media.
During a heartfelt ceremony attended by teammates and staff, COO and team owner Sameen Rana handed Afridi the luxurious gift. The iPhone, engraved with Afridi’s name and the Qalandars logo, surprised the captain. “This is heavy,” Afridi quipped, while Haris Rauf jokingly protested, “This is unfair,” sparking laughter. Sam Billings, among others, was visibly impressed.
Lahore Qalandars posted the video on Instagram, captioning it: “A custom 24K gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro, made exclusively for our main man, Shaheen!” The post amplified the team’s appreciation for their star pacer.
Though not all gestures have been well-received, the gift aligns with PSL’s reward culture, as seen with Karachi Kings’ criticised gifts to players. Lahore Qalandars hold third place with two wins from three PSL 2025 matches.
