Karachi, Sindh: A cryptocurrency trader was allegedly kidnapped from Kamran Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and forced to transfer millions of dollars from his digital wallet.
Police sources said the abductors tortured the trader before forcing the transfer. They also stole his mobile phones and other valuables before fleeing.
The suspects reportedly used a high-end luxury vehicle in the short-term kidnapping. Police said a First Information Report had been registered and an investigation was underway.

Police are trying to trace the suspects and track the digital transactions linked to the wallet transfer.
The case comes as Karachi recorded 4,671 criminal incidents in May, according to data from the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee. The figure included 1,860 mobile phones snatched at gunpoint.
The CPLC data also showed that 445 motorcycles were snatched and 2,240 bikes were stolen across the city in May. At least 20 vehicles were snatched, while 106 vehicles were stolen.
The city also recorded one bank robbery and 10 extortion cases in May. 56 people died in firing and other violent incidents during the month, while no kidnapping-for-ransom cases were reported
