Shaheen Afridi WTC wickets reached 100 on Friday as the Pakistan fast bowler became the first Pakistani to hit the mark in ICC World Test Championship history.
Afridi reached the milestone on the opening day of the first Test against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
The left-arm pacer completed the landmark after dismissing Bangladesh opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy during the day’s play.
The 26-year-old also became the 19th bowler overall to take 100 wickets in the ICC World Test Championship.
Afridi leads Pakistan’s WTC wicket-takers, ahead of Noman Ali with 89 wickets, Sajid Khan with 63, Naseem Shah with 60 and Abrar Ahmed with 46.
Bangladesh took control on the opening day, reaching 301-4 in 85 overs after Pakistan asked them to bat first.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a century, while Mominul Haque added a half-century for the hosts.
Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 48 off 104 balls, with Litton Das not out on eight from 35 deliveries at stumps.
