Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first against Bangladesh in the opening Pakistan-Bangladesh Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
The match is the first Test of a two-match series and part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The second Test will take place at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from May 16 to 20.
Pakistan entered the match fifth in the WTC standings after winning one and losing one of their first two Tests.
The Pakistan cricket team has 12 points and a 50% win rate in the current cycle.
Bangladesh started the match eighth in the standings, having drawn one Test and lost one from two Tests. Pakistan and Bangladesh last played a Test series in August 2024.
Bangladesh won that series 2-0, claiming their first away Test series victory against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s squad includes Imam-ul-Haq, Azan Awais, captain Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Khurram Shahzad, Hasan Ali, Amad Butt, Mohammad Abbas, Ghazi Ghori and Abdullah Fazal.
Bangladesh’s squad includes Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mominul Haque, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Amite Hasan.
