South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics appears to be accelerating its shift toward in-house silicon, as new reports suggest the company plans to integrate its recently announced Exynos 2600 chipset into the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

According to fresh online leaks, the Galaxy Z Flip 8—expected to launch in the summer of 2026—will feature the Exynos 2600 processor. The timing of the report is notable, as Samsung has only just unveiled the chipset, which is also rumoured to power the upcoming Galaxy S26 series in select markets.

This strategy aligns with Samsung’s recent approach to foldable devices. Last year, the company equipped the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500, making it the first foldable phone to run on an Exynos processor. As a result, moving to the more advanced Exynos 2600 for the Flip 8 appears to be a natural next step.

Moreover, the early emergence of these details is significant. With the Galaxy Z Flip 8 still months away from launch, such leaks suggest that Samsung’s hardware roadmap for its foldable lineup is already taking shape.

At the same time, Samsung seems to be maintaining a dual-chip strategy. Reports indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, mirroring last year’s decision to reserve Qualcomm’s top-tier silicon for the premium Fold series.

If these reports prove accurate, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could represent Samsung’s most refined flip phone yet. Powered by the Exynos 2600, the device is expected to deliver improved performance, efficiency, and tighter hardware-software integration, reinforcing Samsung’s confidence in its in-house chipset development.
