Royal Enfield has unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6. All forthcoming Royal Enfield electric vehicles (EVs) will be branded under the Flying Flea name.
This new electric model draws inspiration from the original 1940s Royal Enfield Flying Flea, used during WWII. The older model was known for its lightweight and versatile design, qualities the new electric Flying Flea motorcycles aim to emulate.
The Flying Flea C6 combines retro and futuristic elements, featuring a round LED headlight and girder forks—a style not seen on two-wheelers for some time. Unlike its petrol-powered counterparts, the electric model presents a more compact design, emphasized by the slim 17-inch tires and a forged aluminum frame.
Royal Enfield intends for the Flying Flea C6 to be a modern classic in the urban electric motorcycle segment, offering a decent range to compete with existing electric two-wheelers. The motorcycle’s design suggests a comfortable, low seat height and rider triangle suitable for daily commuting.
Additionally, a two-seater version of the Flying Flea C6 will be available. It features a round TFT display and advanced safety options, including cornering ABS and traction control. The bike is expected to have a fixed battery with a 100-150 km range and competitive power and torque. Detailed specifications will be announced later.
With several electric motorcycles already on the market in India, such as the Revolt RV 400 and Oben Rorr, it will be interesting to see how the Flying Flea C6 is positioned in terms of pricing and features.
