ISLAMABAD: RLNG prices were raised by around 15% for June by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority after costly spot LNG imports, the regulator said.
OGRA said the increase applied at the distribution stage for both Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited.
For SNGPL, the transmission-stage RLNG sale price rose 14.85% to $17.94 per mmBtu from $15.62 per mmBtu in May.
SNGPL’s distribution-stage price increased 14.94% to $19.52 per mmBtu from $16.98 per mmBtu, according to the notification.
For SSGCL, the transmission-stage RLNG price rose 16% to $16.37 per mmBtu. SSGCL’s distribution-stage price increased 16.17% to $18.64 per mmBtu from $16.04 per mmBtu in May.
OGRA attributed the rise to expensive LNG purchased from the international spot market following supply disruptions linked to the temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz and to interruptions during the United States-Iran conflict.
