A blaze on MA Jinnah Road affected Rimpa Plaza, a multi-storey building accommodating various business offices, and the second fire within two weeks.
The latest blaze originated on the first floor of Rimpa Plaza. Firefighting teams responded promptly, deploying snorkels and multiple vehicles. The fire was effectively managed and extinguished with the aid of a fire tender. Sources from the fire brigade confirmed that there were no casualties.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another fire on December 3 that started in a first-floor flat before spreading to higher levels. That fire was controlled after significant firefighting efforts, and all occupants were safely evacuated.

Furthermore, in May of the previous year, another fire had erupted on the seventh floor in a spare parts warehouse. Although it was contained without any casualties, these recurring incidents have intensified concerns over the adequacy of fire safety measures within the building.
Following the fire earlier this month, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and other relevant bodies to thoroughly inspect high-rise buildings. The aim is to enhance fire safety protocols and prevent the recurrence of such hazardous events.
These repeated fires endanger lives and highlight the urgent need for stringent safety standards and regular oversight to ensure the well-being of building occupants and the surrounding community.
